The 100 Greatest Video Games - Results

Saturday, May 30, 2009

As stated in a previous post, a while back Empire magazine was having a poll where you could vote for your 5 favourite video games. Yesterday the results for the 100 Greatest Video Games were published on their site. The first 10 are the following:

1. Super Mario World
2. Final Fantasy VII
3. World Of Warcraft
4. Call Of Duty 4
5. Sid Meier's Civlization
6. Street Fighter 2
7. Doom
8. The Legend Of Zelda: The Ocarina Of Time
9. Super Mario 64
10. GoldenEye 007

What do you think? Do you agree with the results? Feel anything was left out?

These are definitely not the greatest games of all time but I see where it is coming from. These are probably the most loved games of all time. Super Mario World. A Super Nintendo Classic that I still enjoy and it never gets old. I simply love it. Final Fantasy VII. A Japanese epic and probably the best Final fantasy ever with truly emotional storyline.

OK I can understand where this list is coming from but its probably me and my gaming habits that prevent me from agreeing. Only one of my favorite PC games of old made it to the list, Civilization. Where Leisure Suit Larry? where is Myst? Where is Starcraft? Where is Baldur's gate?

I was more of a PC gamer than a console gamer but still...
